Hi, I’m Samia Walsh, the Director and Project Manager of SJ Highland Construction Ltd, a thriving construction company I co-founded with my husband in 2019. After relocating to the Highlands from England in 2018, we established the business, merging his construction expertise with my operational skills. I currently live in Nairn with my husband, our two teenage sons, and my mother, whilst we build our own 'forever home' nearby.

While my husband manages construction, I project manage our jobs and oversee all operational aspects of the business, from client and supplier relations to marketing and Health & Safety compliance. Despite entering the industry without a construction background, I have developed a deep passion for it, continuously expanding my knowledge in construction management. I am a dedicated lifelong learner, currently pursuing Chartered Member status with the CIOB (MCIOB) to further cement my commitment to industry excellence.

I'm a strong supporter of women in construction and actively advocate for increased representation and equal opportunities within the industry. I am incredibly proud that the SJ Highland Construction team includes a talented young female apprentice joiner and hope the future includes welcoming more women into this male-dominated industry..
