This week we are pleased to bring you an insight into the life and work of Laura Johnston-Scott of Highland Well-Ness Collective:

Hi, I’m Laura, the Founder and Company Director of the Highland Well-Ness Collective, a social enterprise committed to improving mental health and fostering community well-being across the Highlands. With a strong belief in the power of collaboration, I focus on creating opportunities for social inclusion and engagement through creative and therapeutic activities. Our work integrates person-centred counselling services with community-driven projects to promote resilience and self-discovery.

In addition to leading the Highland Well-Ness Collective, I also work part time with the Highland charity RASASH as well as engaging in mental health advocacy through my podcast and content creation.

My background includes experience as a Person-Centred Counsellor, Arts Project Manager, and Freelance Dance Artist. I have worked with local charities such as Eden Court, Highland Hospice, and Inverness Ice Centre, to name a few, supporting individuals in their emotional well-being and creative journeys.

At the Highland Well-Ness Collective, I oversee the strategic direction and day-to-day operations, volunteering my time to ensure the success of our initiatives and the accessibility of mental health support, as well and working as lead counsellor and dance tutor.
