Good morning all! We hope all is well this Monday morning! We are here bright and breezey to bring you another instalment of our fabulous Member Monday feature! This week we are delighted to hear from Jennifer Young of Global Infrastructure with an insight into her career to date and where that has brought her to today:
Hello! My name is Jennifer Young and I’m part of the team at Global Infrastructure, a Civil Engineering company based in Beauly.
I left school at 16 and went to Inverness UHI to study Hairdressing for 3 years alongside working in a salon part-time. Fast forward to today I ended up in Civil Engineering/Construction, even though I had no prior knowledge of the industry when I joined Global Infrastructure 5 years ago.
Initially I joined the Business Support Department and my main responsibility was focusing on the HSEQ side of the business. In the past couple of years, our business has seen considerable growth, almost doubling in size. Currently I manage the day to day running of the Business Support department as well as overseeing the training requirements for the business and running the social media channels and website. I also have a big part in organising Career Events to promote opportunities in our industry and recruiting potential future talent for the business.
