Good afternoon all!! We hope you are all well! We are here with the final instalment of our Member Monday feature for 2023! We would like to thank every one of you who provided bios for us to feature and every one of you who has engaged with our posts. We hope to continue this feature for as long as you’d all like to be involved so if you haven’t featured already (or even if you have but would like to provide an update!), consider popping our Member Monday feature on that list of New Year’s Resolutions!!
Meantime, here we are with an update from our very own, ever busy, Donna Smith who has lots of exciting updates to share!
Hi all, Donna Smith here, who some of you may know from my days as the owner of Thystle Ltd but today I am reintroducing myself as the Chief Executive of the Scottish Crofting Federation or SCF. The SCF is a membership organisation and is the only one that is dedicated to supporting crofters and lobbying the government on their behalf in order to protect the future of crofting.
I started there as Chief Executive in September, having previously run my own business for 4.5 years. During that time, I have also had various voluntary roles such as being on the board of HBW and also since October 2019, I have been Chair at Mikeysline, although my time on both boards is about to come to an end. They have been hugely rewarding in very different ways but now it’s time for me to turn my voluntary time towards a new challenge and I have recently become Chair of Invergordon Development Trust so between that and my new job, I will have plenty to challenge me looking ahead!
In my ‘spare’ time, I also teach Zumba twice a week at my local sports centre. I absolutely love it, the moves and the music…..it keeps me fit, helps me de-stress and when you’re the teacher, you can’t just skive a night, so it keeps me accountable too, especially to my merry band of regulars!
