Good afternoon all! As some of you may have noticed, we have had a little break in our Member Monday feature of late, but we are so pleased to return with more member profiles in the making!
This week, we are delighted to hear from, and indeed welcome, new Highland Business Women member, Eilidh Ross of Camus Consulting:
My name is Eilidh Ross and I am a Crofting Law Specialist. My business is Camus Consulting, which is based at the Dingwall Auction Mart, serving crofters, law firms and others across the Highland and Islands.
I was a solicitor in private practice previously, becoming non-practising in 2017 to launch Camus Consulting. My objective was greater flexibility to accommodate family life, and I also hoped to focus on the elements of my job I enjoyed the most. Like most people who start small businesses some soul searching was involved, but I’m happy I made the leap!
As well as helping individual crofters, I provide a support service for law firms in complex crofting transactions where they need extra knowledge or capacity to ensure they can deliver for their clients. Although I am not a practising solicitor just now, I remain a member of the Law Society of Scotland. I’m also a Committee Member of the Crofting Law Group and a member of the Scottish Crofting Federation.
In 2023 I took up a position as a Trustee of Inverness Womens Aid (IWA), an organisation devoted to supporting women, children and young people who are experiencing domestic abuse. The work IWA does is incredibly important and I am grateful for the opportunity to play even a small part in that.
