BBC journalist Kirsty Wark keynote speaker at 2017 awards

BBC journalist and host of Newsnight Kirsty Wark will be the keynote speaker at the 2017 Highland Business Women awards. Kirsty replaces Steph McGovern, whose filming duties that day will prevent her from travelling to Inverness.

One of Britain's most experienced television journalists, Kirsty was born in Dumfries and educated in Kilmarnock. She has presented a wide range of television programmes over several decades - from the ground-breaking Late Show to Election specials, live stadium events and, since 1993, the BBC's flagship nightly current affairs show Newsnight.

“We’re very grateful to Kirsty Wark for stepping in at short notice,” noted Highland Business Women President Victoria Leslie. “Her presentation will be a highlight of the evening and I am sure our guests will enjoy hearing at first hand about Kirsty’s fascinating and wide-ranging career,” she added.

A limited number of tickets remain for the 17 March gala at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness. Tickets are £75 per person and include a three-course meal and drink on arrival.
