For our first meeting of 2019 the HBW Members had the important task of selecting our nominated charity for the coming year. We are delighted to announce that the successful pitch came from The Oxygen Works, the Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre and Oxygen Chamber Service based at Burnett Road, Inverness.
The Oxygen Works provides a wide range of services for people with MS and many other medical conditions that have been found to benefit from oxygen therapy. Centre Manager, Leigh-Ann Little and Deputy Manager, Beth Anderson made a strong and compelling appeal alongside stiff competition from the other short-listed charity applicants - all very worthy candidates. The vote went with The Oxygen Works and HBW will now work with Leigh-Ann, Beth and their colleagues to support the organisation in whatever way we can. We will fundraise throughout 2019 including the raffle held at each networking meeting and efforts at our Annual Awards dinner on 15 March 2019.
Reacting to the news, Leigh-Ann said " The Oxygen Works are delighted to have been chosen as Highland Business Women's Charity for 2019. This will be fundamentally important for the strategic development of The Oxygen Works over the next 12 months to promote the work that we do amongst Highland businesses. This partnership will also permit personal development opportunities for the all female management team at The Oxygen Works to expand their professional network and support from other successful businesswomen across the region. The Oxygen Works is passionate about working collaboratively with other organisations and this opportunity to work with Highland Business Women will represent a significant and hugely important partnership for The Oxygen Works."
